Christianity is right out of all the other positions?
Wow....now this is a great question and deserves a spectacular answer to it. Yes believe it or not this position is provable through evidence as I have determined through my 1200 hours of study over the past 8 months within the field of Apologetics. This has been a tremendous time for me to take an objective look at both the pro and the con evidence of Absolutism vs. Relativism, different Philosophical viewpoints as well as studying about 50 different religious viewpoints. I will have a bit of trouble showing you my 1053 page book on the subject, but I am planning on getting it revised by a local editor and perhaps a published when its ready. However, of the religions studied, there were Christianity, Islam/Muslim, Bahai, Judaism, Catholicism (which is basically Christianity with a few differences), Sikhism, Monism, Naturalism, Agnosticism, Atheism, Skepticism, Gnosticism, Christian Science, Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses, Nominalistic Christianity (I don't know how to refer to this except for confusing, they confuse ethics and try to debase them from their creator), Hinduism, Buddhism, Universalism, Existentialism, etc. etc. I can basically make the claim that a general misconception is that every religion is based around the "golden rule." Well, not exactly. This is just one part of several religions that actually upon further investigation if disagreed upon by many Hindus and Buddhists. So not every religion is deducible to just the "golden rule" as presupposed ty Liberalistic thinkers. What we can say is that every religion and philosophical system of thought has some type of exclusivistic system of thought (including the Liberalistic viewpoint itself). So, this means that not all religions point to the same direction and that the presupposition of Liberalism's thought basis that all religions are the same is false. When we eliminate this system of thought, we realize that Liberalism is not truth. Truth tables require that a system of thought must be true across all borders in order for it to be false. So we have all different types of paths and one must be more right than the others. Which one then? Well, Scientifically, I deduced it to the point that the Bible was the best explanation of the origins of how the Universe was created. So I primarily thought it was one of the three major systems of religious thoughts. Philosophically, the other systems of thoughts will be covered in greater detail within other posts, but I shall say ahead of time, they are all self refuting. It was either Christianity, Judaism or Islam. We will now dive into some detail on these three systems of thoughts as these are the most controversial.
First of all, I think some great overviews of these thoughts can be found on www.jewsforjesus.com and www.answering-islam.org. Those are some great answers. You can also locate some good stuff at Glenn Miller's site, www.christian-thinktank.com. You will find all of those to be beneficial. Now, to the real question, what is truth? Such a tremendous claim that many Philosophers have observed. What can we claim about the Muslims? The Muslims have a statement in the Sura that claims that we are to compare the Previous Scriptures (the Psalm of David, the Torah and the New Testament) to the Koran in order to show whether or not the Koran is accurate in its claims. This is where we run into a problem. The Koran has conflicting claims regarding Jesus Christ. The Koran makes the claim that Jesus was not crucified and didn't rise from the dead. The Bible on the otherhand thoroughly contradicts this. Since the 2nd law of logic precludes both of these to be correct, the Koran is falsified here. Another problem we run into is the fact that the Muslims believed that the child of promise was Ishmael and the Bible thoroughly makes the claim that it is Isaac. This is a secondary problem that has been so controversial that the Jews and the Muslims are still fighting over it today. The Koran has the burden of evidence pushed against it since it was written 700 years after the life of Christ. It is simply false.
The Jews are convincing and many proclaim that this religion came first and that the Christians copied off of the Jews and "stole" their religion. This is simply not true. The problem with these claims that we must examine is who is Jesus Christ? When we take a look at the book of Isaiah, we can see that the Old Testament prophecies the coming birth of Jesus Christ, the crucifixion and the resurrection. These claims are also provided by Jesus Christ himself. The Jews regard Jesus Christ as simply a moral man who led a good life, or he is castrated as a criminal within the Talmud. The Talmudic evidence is very baseless as a resource for the life of Christ because it was written in 500 A.D., which is much further past the life of Christ. It does provide supportive evidence that he did exist however which refutes another claim that Jesus Christ never existed. We have much other collaborative evidence of the existence of Jesus Christ and even claims that he rose from the dead outside of the Bible. I will publish further posts on these at a later time. The Christ myth is very thoroughly refuted by Textual Critic JP Holding though on the Tektonics site. So the claim comes down to, was Jesus Christ just a great moral teacher as the Jews proclaim who was crucified as a criminal? C.S. Lewis strongly objects, since Jesus Christ is strongly regarded as a man with a strongly ethical background. If he is a strongly ethical person, he would object to lying. If he is not lying, he is God as he claims, "I and the father are one" in John 10:30 and as well as, "Before there was Abraham, I am." which means the same thing as when God states, "I am who I am" in Exodus. So he is either a liar, a lunatic or Lord. Its obvious based on his character he was neither a liar or a lunatic, so that leaves Lord. There in lies the truth. Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, the noncontingent figure stated by Rich Deem on god and science. I can respond to further questions upon request.
